Kelly is a graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania with a BSEd in English. She became a Certified Personal Trainer after 10 years of teaching at the high school level. This became a way to create a flexible schedule to be home with her children. After seeing amazing personal results through CrossFit, she became hungry for learning more. In 2011 she obtained her certification and become a CrossFit Level One coach. The unique energy that Kelly brings to the table while coaching brings her love of teaching outside of the classroom and into the gym. Kelly’s energy combined with her love of fitness, combined with her skills of teaching work well together. This creates an unparalleled experience for the members at Brandywine CrossFit.
After the loss of her her father she needed “more.” Kelly found grounding and faith in yoga, but classes as a student wasn’t enough. She learned about the YogaLife Institute’s Yoga Teacher Training program. YogaLife is from any other Yoga Teacher Training programs around. This year-long education doesn’t solely focus on the asanas (poses) of yoga. YogaLife encompasses Classical Yoga, a way of life. This started her started her on a path of personal exploration and understanding that requires the student to dig deep and “do the work.” One gets out of it what one puts into it and it is truly a life-changing experience.
During that year and beyond, she also began searching other avenues to help others. Through the guidance of Cara Lehmann and Libby Piper, she earned her Reiki Level I and II as well as her Third Degree Master Teacher levels. Kelly also now volunteers with Neighborhood Hospice to work directly with patients on hospice. With her energy work, she helps bring healing to these amazing patients. She has found that reiki helps with transitioning into the next stages of their life journey.
She is still learning : )
