What’s the Point?
In life we think the point is to pass the test, overcome the obstacle, win the game. The real truth is that things don’t really get solved so you can wrap them up and put them away on a shelf labeled “done.” Rarely, if ever, is there an opportunity to sit back, relax and say, “Thank goodness, everything I need to do is done. It’s time to relax.”
Things come together for a time and then they fall apart. They come together again and then fall apart again. It’s the way it is. We travel through life carefully juggling balls in the air hoping none will drop.
We feel it’s unfair that we’re constantly just trying to stay afloat. But the thing is, look around, we’re all treading water. And there are times when we feel like the things we surround ourselves with are weighing us down and we struggle. But that’s just the way it’s supposed to be. After all, “A smooth sea never made a skillful sailor.”
Everything Happens For a Reason
We need to let these obstacles happen. Sure, life would be easy if we didn’t have to work so hard, but nothing worthwhile comes easy. We grow and discover who we are through the rough times. We need to allow room for these things to happen. Allow room for the misery, the grief, the pain. Because with the misery, grief and pain, on the other side there is joy and relief and satisfaction.
Our lives are riddled with peaks and valleys. Every day, every job, every relationship. If we didn’t have the valleys, we wouldn’t have the peaks. The suffering comes from wishing things were different. Our misery… self-inflicted. Often times we use our idealistic views to paint our picture instead of reality, which is when we suffer. It’s when we think we need things to be different, or perfect, we take away what makes us who we are.
Let Them Change You
Let the hard things in life break you down…Allow the bad times effect you…Let them change who you are and how you see things. These experiences are your teacher. When things happen to you, it’s life trying to tell you something. Don’t ignore the lessons, the messages, the whispers. Don’t run away. Listen. Stand tall, open your arms and welcome the hard times. They’re only temporary anyway. Just Imagine What will you learn if you really hear what the universe is trying to tell you… What will you learn if you face it all with courage and an open mind.
Learn to trust the journey even if you don’t understand it–Sometimes what you never wanted or expected turns out to be exactly what you need
The universe is handing you lessons. Don’t hide from them. Be you, fully and honestly and face the obstacles head on. Make peace with who you are.
